What can be more romantic than a huge potato baked on charcoal, with some (un)healthy amounts of butter and cheese…
This recipe works equally well with charcoal on your dacha, or in an oven in your concrete jungle dwelling. And feel free to add bacon if you have some.
Ingredients
- potatoes
- olive oil
- salt
- butter
- cheese
You will need
- oven
- foil
Directions
- Preheat oven to 200 ˚C.
- Scrub the potatoes and prick each with a fork. Coat with olive oil and salt and wrap each potato in foil.
- Put the potatoes on a baking sheet (not touching each other) and scatter the sheet with a little water by shaking wet hands over it. Bake for 60–90 min until potatoes are soft (can be easily pierced with a fine skewer through to the center).
- When the potatoes are ready, split them open, season with more salt, and put some butter and cheese on both halves.
